Our Training Faculty hold government recognized formal qualifications and training including:

  • Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications in the Pilates Method, from PilatesITC, or equivalent

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, or equivalent

  • Extensive experience as Pilates teachers in the professional Pilates industry

  • Medical, Med Science, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Human Movements degrees

Meet the Team!
Sally Anderson

Sally led the accreditation of the first Pilates industry qualifications in 2004, the upgrade to Advanced Diploma level in 2009, and the articulation of these Pilates qualifications to Bachelors Degree outcomes in June 2013.

In addition to her Pilates qualifications and with over twenty five years’ experience in the Pilates Method, Sally holds Advanced Diploma of Management, Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110), is a PMA-CPT and registered with USREPS, and is completing her Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine. She has produced the first in a series of workout books, ‘Sally Anderson’s Matwork’ and written extensively as Pilates expert for online sites, magazines, papers and columns, including 2 years as regular contributor to the Sunday Telegraph's weekly 'body+soul' lift out.

Sally teaches Pilates experts and novices alike and has trained famous Australian and international athletes, dancers, celebrities, as well as touring nationally with Cirque du Soleil as their Pilates expert trainer.

Sally is the founding President of the industry peak body, Pilates Alliance Australasia (www.pilates.org.au), and co-founded the annual industry educational conference hosting the leading international experts in Pilates and associates modalities. Read more on Sally at sallyanderson.co

Lanette Gavran

Lanette Gavran is an internationally known Pilates expert in the Pilates Method. A former President of the Pilates Alliance Australasia peak body, Lanette is the director of Pilates Canberra New Acton, creator and licensor of the Pilates Canberra studios and a managing director of PilatesITC, the leading Australian Pilates specialist Registered Training Organization (RTO). She has presented at the Pilates Method Alliance conference in the USA, and extensively across Australia including the Pilates Alliance Australasia conferences held biannually.

With over 18 years of experience, Lanette joined PilatesITC following many years working alongside the company in development of professional education and standards in the Pilates industry in Australia. She holds an Advanced Diploma in the Pilates Method, which is the highest recognised Pilates specialist qualification available. In addition, she has the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has extensive experience in the vocational education and health and wellness industries.

A long-time advocate and tireless worker towards setting standards of practice in the Pilates and health industries, Lanette Gavran has been a member of the industry peak body - the Pilates Alliance Australasia, (PAA) since its inception, and was elected to the committee in 2007 as Education Councillor. In 2010, she was elected to the role of President, which she held until stepping down in late 2013 to undertake a degree and to oversee PilatesITC national research project commenced in January 2014.

Despite owning two extremely busy Pilates studios and an RTO, Lanette has consistently travelled nationally and internationally to continue learning. “I am lucky in my association with Sally Anderson who has mentored and inspired me since our meeting in 1999”, she admits.

Lanette is Director of Curriculum and also Research Manager for PilatesITC, and has led two research projects for PilatesITC over the past several years. She is currently finalising her BA in Exercise Physiology through the articulation process from PilatesITC with University of Canberra and leading a national broad based research project due for publishing in late 2014. Sonia Crisafulli

Sonia initially completed APMA training in the Pilates Method, before going on to complete the Polestar Pilates Studio Series. Having worked extensively in Melbourne and Sydney over 2001-2003, she moved to London, where she undertook further training with Body Control Pilates UK, before moving into a Teacher Trainer role for that organisation. Sonia continued to deliver teacher training and continuing education for Body Control Pilates UK, as well as taking on the role of Studio Manager. When she returned to Australia at the end of 2005, Sonia joined Pilates International as a studio teacher and student supervisor, and upgraded her qualifications to the Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice. In September 2006 she was a guest presenter at the Body Control Pilates UK conference, delivering workshops on Pre and Post-Natal Pilates and Advanced Matwork. From late 2006, Sonia joined the PilatesITC faculty, with a permanent position as Course Co-ordinator. Sonia also holds a Bachelor of Dance, and has completed her Pre/Post Natal Specialist Certification from The Center for Women's Fitness (USA). Sonia has also completed the Advanced Diploma of The Pilates Method (91490NSW) and Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

Andrew Aroustian

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT); Stott Pilates Matwork and Reformer Certification; Cert TAE

Andrew has studied dance all his life and has enjoyed a very successful career as a performing artist. His professional experiences have included; featured dancer in Baz Lurhman's film "Moulin Rouge", 4 years performing the soloist role at Moulin Rouge and Lido de Paris (Paris), various roles in major musical theatre productions in Paris and Australia, and he also toured the world as a dancer on American cruise lines. Upon his return to Australia Andrew discovered the benefits of Pilates, experiencing the rehabilitative effect of Pilates on his own previous injuries, which inspired him to become a qualified STOTT Pilates Matwork and Reformer instructor. Andrew has continued his professional development by completing Xtend Barre training, and graduated in 2015 with his Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction through PilatesITC.

At the start of 2016 Andrew joined PilatesITC as our Manager Special Projects and quickly became a pivotal part of our management team. He has added his Cert Training & Assessment qualification over 2017 and now includes a faculty role to his busy weeks.

Victoria Becka

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NSW); Royal Ballet School Graduate; PilatesITC Senior Faculty

Victoria’s introduction to Pilates was at the age of 13 through her ballet training. She continued to train with Pilates throughout her years at The Royal Ballet School, London and continuously over the duration of her professional ballet and dance career. Along with teaching in studios Vic has had a private clientele practice in both London and Sydney, and between 2012-2015 was employed exclusively to travel with clients in the USA, Mexico, New Zealand and Asia. Vic is highly qualified and experienced, widely travelled, and an amazing movement practitioner. She qualified with PilatesITC in the inaugural intake of accredited qualifications in 2004 and has since continued her training all around the world as her travels took her to distant countries. Victoria is also a highly experienced yoga teacher.

As a graduate of the Royal Ballet School, Vic danced with Basler Ballet, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Shoran Jeyasingh and Opera Australia amongst other extensive dance credits, and has trained and taught Pilates for many years in London, the USA, and of course Australia. Having returned to her Aussie home this year we are beyond excited to be able to bring her expertise and fabulousness to our PilatesITC faculty and PilatesInt teaching team.
