UNDERTAKING YOUR PILATES TRAINING COURSE WORK EXPERIENCE HOURS
A standard course requirement, and one of the most important parts of undertaking a Pilates training course, is the ‘on-the-job’ work experience hours. These are the hours that offer you the opportunity to put into practice your learning in a professional environment.
PilatesITC knows how valuable these hours are for you, our students, and we try to assist you with finding the work experience site or sites that will suit you best – taking into consideration location, hours available, expertise of supervisors, and consistency with the learning you are undertaking.
WORK EXPERIENCE FACILITATION SITES
To provide the very best opportunities for our students, we offer a network of work experience facilitation sites – or as we refer to them, our WEFS!
Our WEFS are leading Pilates studios or centres that have met minimum industry standards for professional work practices, and who are able to provide supportive, engaging environments for students to work with clients and qualified teachers.
COMPLETING ALL YOUR HOURS WITH PILATESITC
You may arrange to undertake ALL your work experience hours with PilatesITC in conjunction with our PilatesInt and WellFit WEF Sites, or at a specific WEF Site from the list below. If consistent hours with specific teachers helps you with your course completion then make your arrangements to stay with the same site/s. However some students find it beneficial to get a variety of input or to have a variety of options for completing work experience hours, which is great if that suits you and your circumstances. It’s best to work out a schedule that you can stick to and that helps you get the experience that supports your learning most appropriately.
Students are responsible for making their work experience arrangements and booking in with the chosen WEFS. From the list of registered WEFS you should find those that would most suit and contact the studio or site directly to book in for your hours. If they are not available, go to your next selection. If you are experiencing difficulty getting the hours you need or you are in an area that is not yet serviced by a listed WEFS, then email PilatesITC to assist you with making arrangements.
If you would like to have your local studio or a particular studio/clinic/centre made available for you as a WEFS, contact PilatesITC and ask for the WEFS registration forms to pass to the studio/clinic/centre so that they may be able to join our registered sites. Even if they don’t, we may be able to approve them as a one off site for you, so be sure to ask us for the processes. Remember that PilatesITC needs to know and have noted on your student file where you are completing your hours. It is up to each student to make sure these details are kept current.
All work experience placements require approval and processing by PilatesITC in arrangement with the WEF site, and student placement details must be kept current on student files with PilatesITC.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE!
If a student is already completing hours at a studio that is not within the WEFS listed above, you may initiate a process of approval for that studio by requesting the Work Experience Facilitation Guidelines and Application Form.
This form is to be completed by the studio and returned to PilatesITC. Approval for placement with an external host centre will be dependent upon a sites ability to meet the requirements of supporting and hosting students and at the discretion of PilatesITC management. PilatesITC will also assist new sites to implement requirements in order to become a WEFS.
We are always happy to accept applications from Pilates centres who may wish to become a PilatesITC WEFS.
